Benefit Fine One One Review

I absolutely LOVE Benefit make-up and beauty products, they are by far my "go to" brand for pretty much any form of make-up or beauty product. At some point in the near future I will do a full haul of all my benefit products (if I'm feeling brave I may even do it as a vlog!), but for now I am going to review their "fine one one" cheek colour.

I have been using this product ever since its release last year and it is probably one of the best make-up items I have ever owned. Personally, I have always found it difficult to find a bronzer, blusher or highlighter that really blends and compliments the rest of my makeup (I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had those clown look-a-like blusher disaster moments!)

According to Benefit "This sheer brightening cheek & lip color gives your look instant LIFT, SHAPE and POP. Glide on the three shades: pink champagne, sheer watermelon and soft coral. For a sheer coral pink flush that builds from soft & natural to bright & cheery."

The product really is fantastic! It is so quick as easy to apply, you simply glide from the apple of your cheek to your temple and subtly blend the three colours together. The product acts as a highlighter, blusher and contours your cheekbone all at the same time, adding so much definition to your face. The colours themselves are summery and natural, meaning you can create a very natural look, or layer up "fine one one" over other blushers or tints for a more statement look. I also have a huge weakness for products that look beautiful and are packaged nicely, so Benefits attention to these details only makes me love the brand more!

Wednesday Wishlist

1. Miss Selfridge Beatrix Cupback Boot £55
2. Topshop Mesh Sweat by Boutique £50
3. Topshop Purple Lipstick £8
4. Ciate Gold Digga £9

It's a cold, rainy morning in Manchester and I'm completely bunged up with a cold about to brave the elements to go into uni... so I don't know about you, but I could do with a little Wednesday morning pick me up! Therefore I have complied a short "wish list" of four items that would really brighten up my life right now!

I have been ADMIRING those Miss Selfridge boots ever since they came out. Just wow. How beautiful are those feature gold heels! I'm trying with all my might to resist the temptation to cave in and buy them, convincing myself I have far too many shoes already, but the temptation is so great I may have to splurge.

I am also a huge fan of purple lipstick at the moment, but am yet to try it as I'm not sure how it will suit my cooler complexion, however this colour is gorgeous and at only £8 it's definitely at the top of my "to buy" list.

How are you all feeling this morning? let me know the items on your wish list in the comment section below, and don't hesitate to request posts!

Liebster Award

I am delighted to say I have been nominated for the Liebster award by the beautiful blogger Corin Pye (http://corinpye95.blogspot.co.uk)

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. So, what is a Liebster? Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved, lovely, cute, endearing and welcome. Isn't that lovely!

The rules are as follows;
1. Answer the 11 questions the blogger who nominated you asked
2. Nominate 6 other bloggers with less than 200 followers
3. Create 11 question for them to answer!

Lets get started!

1. How do you spend your spare time?
Mainly blogging! When I'm not in university, or completing university work, I come back to my room, get in my big double bed with my macbook and blog whilst looking at my beautiful 15th floor view of Manchester! I also LOVE reading, and love long baths

2. Favorite brand of makeup?
Benefit.

3. Mac or windows?

Such a hard question! Toss up between Requiem for a Dream, Mrs Doubtfire and Snow White (quite an eclectic mix i know!)

6. Best 3 apps on your phone
Instagram, bloglovin, snapchat

7. Curly hair or straight?
Naturally I have really straight hair, and since we all seem to hate what we have I'll go with curly

8. Hair or makeup as a necessity?
Makeup! Can't leave the house without my mascara on

9. What's your aspiration in life?
Oh gosh I have so many I don't even know where to start! I'm such a dreamer I aspire to do and achieve everything, however the past year has taught me a lot, and if I've learnt one thing from it, it's simply to aspire to be healthy and happy

10. Describe your life in a sentence
A happy, stressful chaos of studies and friendship

11. Heels or flats?
Heels everytime

My Room Decor

I am incredibly inspired by interior design and room decor, and since my bedroom at home and my bedroom at university have been styled in two completely different ways, I've decided to show you some of my favourite decorations from each (starting with my room in Manchester, and eventually showing you my room at home when I'm next back there!)

For my Manchester room, I wanted to go for a "vintage kitsch" homely feel, and so focused my colour scheme around power blue and baby pink, with a emphasis on mixing and matching different flowery and "shabby chic" patterns.

This theme is really easy to achieve, as there are so many fantastic companies who specialise in this style of decor- a personal favourite of mine being "Sass and Belle", however, much of my room is also available on the high street! (my bunting was £6 for urban outfitters!)

I would recommend providing continuity through a selection of a few similar colours, or a colour palate (e.g. pastels) If you simply miss match all colours as well as all patterns, the room may start to look cluttered and busy

As with many things, less is more. I personally think it's more effective to focus on a few feature decorations rather than to try and include everything at once. However, to stop your room looking bare and to personalise further, buy a number of miss matched photo frames to decorate your surfaces with!

Ted Baker Accessories Haul

I am just so in love with all the Ted Baker accessories at the minute! Especially this nude, black and rose gold colour theme! Pictured above are the nude pencil case, the black make-up bag and the nude ipad mini case.

I absolutely love these products, they are simple, clean and classic items which work well individually or look fantastic as a collection if you feel like splurging on the whole set (like me!)

A really handy feature of these items is the "wipe down" shiny finish to them, which means if they get dirty or marked they are so easy to clean, which is a great quality to have, especially in items such as makeup bags and pencil cases which are constantly subjected to stains

What's your opinion on these products? Let me know in the comment section below!

Valentines Gift Guide

1. Personalised M&M’s £3.00 upwards
2. Sweetest Valentine Yankee Candle £16.99
3. Lush Valentines massage bar £5.50/45g
4. Polaroid love notes- John Lewis £10.99

Valentines day is such a lovely time of year, whether you’re in a relationship or not, who doesn’t love an excuse to pamper themselves and over indulge in chocolate after the dry January blues?

I love doing gift guides and had so much fun searching for some cute, budget valentines
presents. A personal favourite would have to be the adorable cookie cutters or the polatoid love notes. I am a firm believe that something handmade, throughtful and personal can be so much more special than diamonds and pearls... (although I don’t think I’d say no if the offer was there!)
