Lynette Page Make Up*

If you have read my last blog post then you will know that last week I attended the launch of 'Lynette Page'- a new make up artistry bar in the centre of Knutsford.

Lynette has also created her own range of make up to be used and sold in the shop. The make up itself is of an extremely high quality- the eye shadows are so fine they are practically dust, meaning they blend like a dream and the colour is beyond intense. Lynette has made everything easy- taking away the stress of not knowing which tones and colours to pick, by basing her entire line on colour theory. Every product from the foundation to the lipsticks are labeled with a small 'c' or 'w' indicating whether that colour is suitable for people with a cool or a warm complexion. The eyeshadow palettes take this one step further, and there are specific day and night time palettes designed to suit every eye colour! This means that you can completely eradicate the awkward overwhelming feeling of approaching a make up counter without having a clue where to start! I know that personally, I sometimes feel intimidated by the vast range of products on offer, and sometimes you don't feel comfortable asking for advice without feeling pressured into a purchase.

With the Lynette make up range, this is so much less of an issue as once you know whether you have a cool or warm complexion, you can easily access all of the colours and products that will truly suit you! In the images above, I am wearing eye make up from the 'Green Eyes' day time palette- a beautiful combination of neutrals and pinks!

The range is beautifully packaged and I would highly recommend you check out the website and try them out for yourself! Let me know in the comments below if you do try this make up out! I'd also love it if you'd follow me on bloglovin!

Lynette Page Make Up Artistry Launch*

Snuggled away down a beautiful little street in Knutsford is the most gorgeous new make up artistry bar. Owner and makeup artist Lynette Page is one of the most bubbly, friendly and welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and her make up range and beauty bar concept revolutionise the world of pampering. Last night I was privileged to attend her launch and try out her new self-designed make up range.

For me, the best part of a night out is getting ready. I love getting the girls over, sticking on some music and spending hours pampering ourselves before heading out. I also love being pampered by other people, and if it's a special occasion, I will treat myself to a curly blow dry or have my hair styled at the hairdressers. As much as I love having my make up done by make up artists, my only experience of this has been whilst awkwardly perched on a stool in the middle of a busy department store, while I try not to cringe as the make up artist takes off my make up in front of what seems to be a gaping audience. (I know this sounds like an exaggeration, but anyone who has been in this situation will know that it somewhat detracts from the treat of having your makeup done, and it is almost impossible to relax and fully enjoy the experience).

This is why I fell in love with 'Lynette Page' the moment I stepped through the door. It is a dreamy heaven of reflective surfaces, gorgeous lighting and friendly staff. A place to come and have your make up done in an atmosphere designed specifically for it, a place to bring your friends and be pampered together, or a place to simply browse and try Lynette's own range of make up without the pressure of a shop assistant giving you the hard sell. With treatments ranging from make up lessons to make overs, the bar menu is full of different looks so you are bound to find the one you love.

The launch itself was a lovely event, with champagne and fizzy orange supplied along with make up tutorials and trials, I can't wait for my next visit! I would highly recommend this beauty bar to anyone who lives around the Knutsford/ Cheshire area, it is such an original idea and would be a fantastic treat for you and the girls to enjoy.

Stay tuned on my blog this week as I will be doing a separate review of the Lynette Page make up range! Leave your lovely comments below and I will respond to you all. I'd also love it if you'd check out my twitter and instagram and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin' to keep up to date!

M.A.C Prep and Prime BB Beauty Balm

Yesterday I got sidetracked in Selfridges (as I always do whenever I enter the shop). I ended up spending a long time at the M.A.C. counter, staring in awe at their amazing selection of make up. Primers are a fairly new make up phenomenon, and since I first discovered them 15 months ago I am a fully fledged convert- sometimes opting to ditch the foundation all together in favour of primers, creating a much more natural look. I am incredibly lucky in that I don't suffer from spots and my skin isn't oily, therefore I was advised by the M.A.C. consultant that my skin would be more suited to the compact beauty balm in a solid cream formula, which provides a lighter and more natural coverage than the tinted cream.

Today was my first day using the product, and I am already in love with it! I have used two different primers previously, (Benefit's 'Porefessional', which aims to minimise the appearance of pores and Benefit's 'Stay Flawless' which helps keep your make up in place all day long), and although both of these products work fantastically, I was after a primer which contained a hint of colour and would even out my skin tone. The M.A.C. beauty balm feels so light and silky, and makes my skin look smooth and even- (someone even commented that my face looked like it had been photoshopped!), so this product is a definite keeper in my eyes!

Priced at £24, as with all M.A.C. products, it is much more expensive than your average drug store brand, however the quality is definitely reflected in the price so I would 100% recommend spending more if you want a high quality product that really does work!

Leave your lovely comments below and let me know what your favourite primer is! Thank you so much for your continued support... if you're a new visitor I would love it if you would follow me on bloglovin' too!

I cannot believe I am actually sat here writing a blog post about that fact summer is over! I feel like I owe you all an apology for my lack of blog posting recently, but I have just spent one of the most amazing weeks of my life in Dubai! Gluten Free Treats with Udi's*

As a student, it can be hard enough learning how to cook, food shop and look after yourself. It is even harder when you live with allergies which really restrict your ability to buy the cheapest food or 'meal share' with your flatmates. I know this struggle all too well, as I suffer from allergies to wheat, potato, banana, msg and artificial sweeteners. However, then I stumbled across 'Udi's'- a company who strive to create the tastiest gluten free food on the market, and even have a whole section of their website dedicated to living as a student with allergies.

The company offer such a wide range of products including sweet and savoury, and everything they sent to me was absolutely delicious! The sun dried tomato bagels with cream cheese and spinach were so filling and flavoursome I could have eaten all four in one go.

In the past I have found that a lot of gluten free alternatives have a tendency to be dry and very stodgy, but with the Udi's products the opposite appeared to be true! For me, the blueberry muffins were the biggest surprise- they were so moist and tasted no different to a standard wheat filled muffin!

When I first found out about my allergy to wheat I was incredibly down and found food too much of a chore to be able to enjoy. However, now I have found Udi's this problem has completely gone and I am just so excited to try out more of their products!

Very.co.uk Interview, A Big Thank you and our Ice Bucket Challenge

As you will know from my last blog post, last weekend I went for a day of pampering as part of the #VeryBeautyTour. While I was there I was given the exciting opportunity to be interviewed and filmed by the Very team!

They filmed a short vox-pop of me explaining the day, the pampering I received and how I found the whole experience! (I was also featured on their instagram- but keep a look out on their website for when they release footage of the experience).

In other news, voting for the Cosmo blog awards closes today, and I want to say an incredibly huge thank you to every one who has voted for me and supported me and my blog over the past few months! It is now down to the judges to decide on the winners, and although it would be an absolute dream come true to win, I am so proud and honoured to have even been shortlisted alongside some absolutely amazing bloggers. The fact that Zoella (my absolute blogging idol!) once won Best Beauty Blog is just insane! I am still getting over the fact people even thought my blog deserved to be nominated.

Finally, today is the last day of my five week internship, and I fly off to Dubai on Sunday morning (!!!!) so sorry if blog posts are a little bit sparse next week. Earlier this week at work we participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, so if you fancy a laugh give it a watch below!

#VeryBeautyTour with Very.co.uk

Last week I received a really exciting email telling me about Very.co.uk's '#VeryBeautyTour'. The first stop on the tour was Liverpool, just down the road from me, so I got really excited and planned to drive down on Saturday to enjoy some complimentary pampering! However, as I opened my curtains on Saturday morning to the sight of torrential rain, I thought I'd be crawling straight back into bed with my breakfast and Netflix- it seemed a shame to miss out but there was no way I was venturing out in that weather!

Luckily, the weather soon brightened up, and it actually became a really gorgeous sunny day! Plans back in motion, I got out of bed and headed down to Willamson Square in Liverpool. I was greeted by some lovely ladies from Very, who gave me a goody bag including some cute little samples and a discount voucher, and I went to join the queue. There were a multitude of treatments on offer from facials to make overs and hair styling to manicures. I opted for a manicure, as I felt this would last the longest and I'm absolutely terrible at painting my own nails!

The lovely Nails Inc manicurist did such a fantastic job and my nails are yet to chip (three days down the line is a huge achievement for me!) and I felt like instead of trying to rush through the large queue of waiting girls, they made sure everyone had a really nice, luxurious experience.

As I was leaving, I was photographed and interviewed by Very.... but more about that in my next blog post so keep your eyes out!

There are only a few days left to vote for the Cosmo Blog Awards and my blog has been shortlisted to win 'Best New Beauty Blog'. I'd really appreciate it if you would follow THIS LINK and vote for "Amyelizabethfashion". Thank you!

Sweet as Honey with Burt's Bees*

As the 30th anniversary of Burt's Bees looms, I was contacted regarding trying out some of their products. I have used their beeswax lip balms in the past, but have never tried their face or body products.

When I was around 5, I split my lip open quite badly and had to have stitches and I now have a scar that runs from my nose to my lip. The place where the scar meets the top of my lip is very sensitive and always gets chapped in the cold and wind. (Which we get a lot of in Manchester). Chapped lips, however, are an absolute pet peeve of mine so I always have a lip balm of some sort to hand. I was already a huge fan of the beeswax lipbalm that comes in a tin, however, this tube 'lipstick' applicator  makes it so handy for popping in your bag and applying on the go without having to get your fingers sticky.

One thing that I love about the entire range of products is that they are made from natural ingredients and the company itself is incredibly committed to producing products in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way possible. The products are formulated to sustain the skins equilibrium temperature, moisture and nutrients, so not only are the products produced responsibly, but they really do work too!

All the products contain honey, which gives them a gorgeous sweet smell. I am particularly fond of the milk and honey scent of the body lotion, as it leaves a fresh but succulent scent behind. The consistency of the body lotion is a gorgeous, thick cream. As soon as it soaks into the body your skin feels soft and nourished. However, a little bit really does go a long way and I learnt from my mistakes after applying far too much the first time and having to wait quite a while for the product to soak in!

Before you leave, voting for the Cosmo Blog Awards closes next Friday and my blog has been shortlisted to win 'Best New Beauty Blog'. I'd really appreciate it if you would follow THIS LINK and vote for "Amyelizabethfashion". Thank you!
