Be Delicious with DKNY

The DKNY "Be Delicious" range has been out for quite a while now, and over that period of time I have sampled pretty much every scent in the range. The green apple scent has always been my favourite, providing a light and fruity scent, whilst the the red gives off a slightly heavier scent more suitable for night time. Therefore when I was recently on holiday I couldn't resist a little peruse around the duty free shop, and was instantly drawn to the new limited addition DKNY perfumes and body sprays.

There are three new perfumes in the limited addition range, but as soon as I smelt Urban Violet I knew that it was the one for me! It is such a light, airy scent that creates a really subtly sweet scent. I am not a fan of overpowering smells or flavours, so the muted undertones within this perfume are perfect. (Also it is such a bonus that the perfume leaves a subtle after smell of parma violets- i.e. the best sweets that have ever been invented).

The largest bottle, on the far right of the final picture, is one of the new body sprays. The body spray range mimics the smell of the original Be Delicious range, but are less strong and are designed for application all over the body twice a day.

Before you go I just wanted to let you know how overwhelmed I have been by all your comments, follows and messages of support recently! Thank you so much! White Mesh

I'm wearing; White mesh shift dress; Missguided

So here I am, sat on my sofa in cold rainy England after landing at Liverpool airport less than two hours ago, already dreaming of my next holiday (or the next opportunity I will get to buy some gorgeous holiday clothes). Therefore, I thought I'd share with you one of my favourite summer purchases of this year. As many of you may have guessed by now, I am currently obsessed with Missguided. I just cannot get enough of their amazing summer dresses and crop tops, and everything on their website is so reasonably priced you'd be stupid not to grab yourself a bargain! This year I have avoided jumping on the more expensive Topshop high street bandwagon and purchased the majority of my summer clothes for a fraction of the price at Missguided, including this gorgeous white shift dress with mesh detail.

I have already worn this dress countless times, both on holiday and in England, as it is perfect for a casual summers day, can be thrown on over a bikini, or could be dressed up with some wedges and costume jewellery for a more formal night time look!

Please leave your lovely comments below and let me know where you've been buying your summer clothes from. Pink Warm and Cosy

I have such a weakness when it comes to buying body butters and body lotions. As soon as I find a smell that I fall in love with I have to purchase the product, regardless of how many other near-to-full similar products I already have building up at home. Therefore, when I was enticed into the PINK Victoria's Secret shop in the Trafford Centre last week by their "any two body sprays/ lotions/ creams/ exfoliators for £18" deal, I knew I wouldn't be leaving empty handed.

After smelling every product in the shop approximately three times, I kept being drawn back to their "warm and cosy" range, as it made me feel incredibly nostalgic, and it wasn't until later that I realised the products smell exactly like Tunnocks Snowballs. (Most of you will probably have absolutely no idea what on earth I am referring to, but they are basically heaven in a marshmallow and chocolate and coconut form, and were practically my favourite treats as a child). In the end I decided on buying the "2-in-1 wash and scrub" and the body lotion.

I have only used the wash and scrub once so far, but I literally felt like I had died and gone to heaven, as I seriously just cannot get enough of this smell! The consistency is a little bit smoother than a full on exfoliator, meaning it feels nicer to apply to the skin, and as you wash yourself, gently takes off any dry skin patches and smooths your skin. I actually really love the way this product works, as although it isn't as intense as using a full blown exfoliator, it seems kinder to your skin, and you don't feel as though you are rubbing a rough substance onto your body, meaning you could use it incredibly frequently and maintain a lovely standard of soft and smooth skin. The body lotion has become a new favourite of mine. The application couldn't be easier, as the product comes in a "soap like" dispenser, meaning you can avoid the awkward scooping out of the product that I absolutely hate if you buy lotions from places like the Body Shop, as it just becomes hard to gage when you have actually selected the right amount of product. With the Pink body lotion, I simply dispense a few pumps onto my hand and rub it in over my body, leaving my skin instantly hydrated and silky smooth (and of course topping up my new absolute favourite smell in the whole world!!)

Normally, these products would be priced at £15 and £13 each, so I really feel like I found such a bargain buying them both for £18! My only regret is that I didn't invest in the body spray too!

"The Heist" with Benefit Cosmetics

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I took on Benefit Cosmetics "The Heist" in Manchester (...and lost).

The event took place in order to promote the new "They're Real" criminally easy eye liner, and it really was such great fun. The event involved the completion of a Mission Impossible style lazer assault course, in which you had to successfully clamber, tiptoe and climb your way over a series of lazer beams from one end of the room to the other, without touching any beams and setting off the alarm. If you were successful, you won the eye liner positioned on the plinth past the lazers... free Benefit makeup?! mission accepted.

Both me and my boyfriend attempted the course three times, and although he once came very close to completion, unfortunately we just aren't cut out for the secret agent world and weren't nimble enough to bag ourselves the prize. Disappointment aside, I did grab myself a load of free samples, along with a free makeup lesson in how to apply the liner so it wasn't all bad! If you've already read my review of the product, then you will know that I think the eyeliner is amazingly innovative, and this makeup lesson really helped me to understand how to best use and apply the product.

The Heist is coming to a few cities around the UK so make sure you keep up to date with Benefit's tweets and instagrams if you want to try the challenge for yourself! Please leave your lovely comments below and let me know if you've taken on The Heist yet. Cloud Nine Magical Repair and Protect*

I have a slight confession to make... this may or may not come as a surprise to you, but I am not a natural blonde. In fact my hair is actually an extremely dark shade of brown. 16 months ago I took the plunge and decided to test the theory that blondes have more fun, and although I much prefer my hair blonde and can't see myself going back to my dark roots any time soon, the constant hair dying really does take its toll on the condition of your hair. Along with my hair dye, I am also guilty of blow drying and straightening my hair every time I wash it, and I even sometimes use my curling iron before a night out- heat plus bleach plus naturally limb and thin hair is not the best combination for silky looking locks!

I have literally scoured the Boots isles high and low to try and find products to help my hair, make it thicker, shinier, healthier... (the list goes on), and yet I still find myself having to use copious amounts of hairspray to stop my hair from falling back into its natural limp state. Therefore I was beyond excited when Cloud Nine sent me this "Magical Duet" to try, containing the "Magical Remedy", which helps to repair damaged hair, and the "Magical Quick Dry Potion" for extreme heat protection.

The magical remedy is without a doubt one of the best hair products I have ever used! It is effectively a leave in conditioner, repairer and de-tangler which instantly made my hair feel so soft, thick and most importantly, healthy. I applied this product to freshly washed hair, and found that my hair looked clean and healthy for the full four day duration until I next washed my hair! The magical quick dry potion promises to reduce your drying time by 50% whilst offering protection from the heat. I have found many similar products quite sticky in the past, and actually think they have left my hair feeling unclean and greasy, however this product seemed to have a completely different texture altogether and it really does speed up the drying process.

All in all I would 100% recommend you buy these products, especially if you're worried about sun, sand and chlorine damage this summer (I will definitely be taking both these products back on holiday with me next week!), and priced at £16.50 for the set you really cant go wrong! If you want to try the products out for yourself, then make sure you check out THEIR WEBSITE.

Ponds Essential Care*

I have always been pretty lucky when it comes to my skin in that I have never really suffered from breakouts, spots or blackheads. However, over recent months I have gone through periods of stress, insomnia and anaemia, leading to me feeling tired and lacking in sleep. The result of this has meant that for the first time I have had growing concerns over the condition of my skin, as it has felt dryer and I have begun to notice dark circles appearing under my eyes.

I have also always been incredibly selective about the products that I use to put on my face, but it almost felt like my skin had grown accustomed to the products I have been using and they no longer seem to have the same effect so I felt like it was time for a change. Therefore I was incredibly excited to be contacted by "Pond's Institute" about trying some of their skin care products, and specifically requested their Eye Contour cream to try and restore my skin to its former state. Along with the eye cream I was also sent the "Essential Care" cream. Having used these products for a little under a week now I am already quite impressed. The eye cream is of a light consistency and instantly makes your under-eye area feel hydrated and moisturised after application. I have also noticed that my eyelashes seem thicker and stronger, something other users of the product have commented on too, so that is a fantastic bonus side effect of using this product! Although I still swear by my Benefit "Fake Up" concealer for hydrating and covering any dark circles during the day time, this eye contour cream works hand in hand and helps me to feel more awake whilst smoothing out my skin, making make up application so much easier.

As much as I would rave about the eye cream, I have mixed feelings about the essential care cream. The consistency is luscious, thick and creamy and really does seem to hydrate, however, I am not a fan of the smell as I find it quite strong and overpowering. Smell aside, the product quality itself is excellent and it really does do its job, so it's just a matter of whether or not you are willing to deal with the smell (which may be to your taste, it just isn't to mine!)

All in all I do think both these products are great, especially considering the considerably cheaper price tag to my usual skincare products. The eye cream retails at £7.99, and the essential care cleanser at £4.57 and can be purchased in most Boots stores or on their website.

Malibu Barbie

I'm wearing; Pop Art Print crop top, Missguided, £17.99; Nicole High Waisted denim shorts, Missguided; £21.99

I've always loved a good crop-top and shorts combo for pottering around in when I'm on holiday, and when I saw this "pop-art" print crop top from Missguided I had to buy it (mainly because it reminds me of Barbie and who doesn't love Barbie?!). The top is actually part of a set of co-ords, which I originally bought together, however I ended up returning the shorts as I didn't like the length that they cut my leg off at. I have styled this top with my trusty Missguided shorts, which I featured in another ootd last month (read all about it HERE).

Yesterday was another amazing day... the good news just keeps on rolling in this summer! I found out that I have accepted onto a five week internship with the company South Beach Swim, so after feeling at a loss since my House of Fraser internship ended, I am now frantically preparing for my next internship before jetting off on holiday again next week! I am one busy bee this summer, but I definitely wouldn't have it any other way!

Hawaiian Tropic

At the end of May I attended a fab blogging event by South Beach Swim at a bar in Manchester, and besides from being a fantastic event where I met so many other lovely Manchester based bloggers, we also received amazing goodie bags at the end, full to the brim of really cool summertime beauty products and accessories. One of the products in my goodie bag was this Hawaiian Tropic Factor 50 Silk Hydration Sun Tan Lotion, and ever since the event I have been dying to take the product on holiday with me to test it out!

I have naturally fairly fair skin, however I do love sitting in the sun all day, and love getting a good natural tan when I'm on holiday, however I am extremely cautious about the dangers of skin cancer and am always keen to ensure that I am wearing a high factor of suntan cream and try to keep my face in the shade as much as possible. Therefore, I was delighted to try this silky smooth really high factor of sun tan cream in Majorca recently. Normally, I am not a huge fan of cream sun tan lotions, favouring the quick dry spray options instead as I usually find these less greasy and much easier to apply- (I have experienced the sand and sticky sun tan lotion combo enough to last me a lifetime)- however the fact Hawaiian Tropic actually doubles up as a moisturiser means that it bypasses the sticky stage, dries quickly, and actually helps to build a better tan whilst ensuring that you will not get burnt!

I didn't really think I would feel quite so strongly opinionated about a sun tan lotion, however I cannot recommend this product enough! When you apply it it feels no different than applying a rich moisturiser, leaving your skin feeling instantly hydrated and glowing. The lotion itself is slightly pigmented, meaning that after application you already look like you are well on your way to a healthy glow! The product is waterproof too, meaning that even on the day when I visited a waterpark I managed to remain in the sun and in and out of water all day long without getting burnt.

The best advantage of this product is that due to its moisturising properties, it actually helps your tan stay for longer and prevents peeling, meaning that in the long run using this suntan cream will actually give you a much better tan than going into the sun unprotected, with the added bonus that you know you are fully protected from its harmful rays.
